Oura Labs serves as an innovation hub where members, researchers, and the Oura team can collaborate to develop trailblazing new features that change the way we think about health.*
At Oura, we’re committed to continuously advancing scientific and medical research, so we can make a difference in our members’ health and overall lives. Analyzing member feedback and aggregated data is an integral part of our science and product development, both for improving existing features and building new ones.
We’re grateful to the members who have provided thoughtful feedback on our initial Oura Labs features, which we are already using to iterate and improve on those features.
As of October 3, 2024, Oura Labs is now rolling out to Android users.
Meals
Meals, the newest experimental feature in Oura Labs, is ready for testing! Meals is designed to help you optimize your eating habits for better sleep, less stress, and improved energy levels.
The Meals feature represents Oura’s initial expansion into metabolic health, a key area of interest for our members. In fact, 97% of Oura members have expressed interest in understanding how the food they eat impacts their health, while 7 in 10 are interested in understanding the optimal timing for meals for optimal sleep and energy levels.
How to Use Meals
When you opt into testing this new feature, you’ll see a Meals card on your Home tab.
Log your meals throughout the day by taking a photo or inputting text that describes your meal. Then, using AI, Oura will analyze the contents and timing of your meal to help you understand the effects of your eating habits on your body and overall health.
You’ll receive feedback in relation to your chronotype and your prior night’s sleep timing, as well as personalized insights on how your eating patterns may be impacting your daily energy and nighttime recovery.
This feature is still under development, so please provide feedback on your experience.

How to Use Oura Advisor
When you opt-in to test the AI-powered Oura Advisor feature in Oura Labs, you’ll be prompted to customize your experience during the onboarding process.
First, select your advisor’s communication style (Supportive, Mentoring, or Goal-oriented), which influences how the advice and guidance is presented.
Next, configure your notification preferences. Select how often you want to receive notifications from your advisor (daily, three times a week, or weekly) and specify your preferred time of day (morning, afternoon, evening) for receiving these notifications.
You can access your chat with the Oura Advisor by tapping on the notifications, the Oura Advisor card in the Home tab, or start a chat from the “+” menu.
As with all Oura features, we welcome your feedback! In Oura Labs, the “Give Feedback” button directs you to a form where you can share detailed insights or suggestions about your experience with the feature.
A Note on Privacy
Your privacy is in your control. If you choose to test Oura Advisor, know that this AI-powered chat feature will use data from the Oura App to personalize your coaching experience. This data helps the feature understand your behaviors and preferences, adapting its interactions accordingly.
If you would like Oura Advisor to provide guidance and tips unique to your health and wellness behaviors and goals, you can share information that will be stored as a ‘Memory’. Tell Oura Advisor you’re recovering from knee surgery, and it will keep this in mind when delivering insights and guidance across Sleep, Activity, Recovery, and more.
At any time, you can delete a ‘Memory’ stored by Oura Advisor if you’d like more generalized tips and guidance.
For more information on how Oura handles your data and what you can do to manage your health data, visit Oura’s Privacy Policy.
Symptom Radar
Symptom Radar gives you the ability to better understand and detect changes in biometric signals and trends that could put additional strain on your body. It monitors for significant changes across several biometric trends, including body temperature range, respiratory rate, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability.
When it detects any signs your body is strained, you’ll find a notification in the Home view under your Readiness Score. When these changes align with how you’re feeling, you can slow down and focus on rest and recovery and ward off any harmful effects.
Note: When you enable Symptom Radar, it will replace Rest Mode prompts.
While Symptom Radar shouldn’t be used as a diagnostic tool, think of it as a way to help you better understand your body’s signals. Always listen to your body first and seek medical care if you’re concerned about any symptoms.
How to Opt Into Oura Labs
