Oura is proud to partner with Project RESET, Singapore’s flagship heart health research initiative focused on cardiovascular disease prevention. 

The partnership brings Oura’s robust biometric tracking capabilities into a landmark national study, unlocking a new frontier in understanding cardiovascular disease prevention through continuous data collection and using AI to gain deeper insights

“By combining Oura’s advanced wearable technology with Project RESET’s translational research capabilities, we are taking a significant step toward developing predictive models for early identification of patterns that increase the risk of negative cardiovascular outcomes,” said Professor Roger Foo, Principal Investigator of Project RESET and Director of the Cardiovascular-Metabolic Disease Translational Research Programme (CVMD TRP) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. “This initiative will reduce the long-term healthcare burden by focusing on making prevention actionable.”

Funded by a $25 million grant from the National Research Foundation, Singapore and the Ministry of Health’s National Medical Research Council, Project RESET is an ambitious, five-year research program bringing together multiple institutions, public healthcare clusters, and industry and community partners. 

The initiative seeks to recruit 3,000 participants ages 40 to 70 to map heart disease progression and develop innovative solutions that empower individuals to take proactive steps in their heart health journey.

As part of the effort, Oura will sponsor 1,500 rings for participants enrolled in Project RESET. This will provide researchers with critical longitudinal data and AI-driven insights that pave the way for more personalized interventions.

By continuously collecting high-resolution data on sleep quality, heart rate variability, temperature, respiratory rate, activity levels, and stress responses, Oura’s involvement in Project RESET enables a richer understanding of how everyday behaviors influence long-term cardiovascular health. These insights will help researchers identify subtle patterns and early physiological shifts that may signal increased risk—long before symptoms appear.

For participants, this means better awareness and ownership of their health. For researchers, it creates a rich dataset for understanding how real-world behaviors and environments influence cardiovascular outcomes across diverse populations.

“Sleep health is a critical yet often overlooked factor in cardiovascular disease risk,” said Michael Chee, Principal Investigator of the RESET-Oura sub-study and Director of the Centre for Sleep and Cognition at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. 

“By incorporating Oura’s well-validated sleep-tracking capabilities, among multiple other important data points, Project RESET will also be able to assess how sleep duration, regularity, efficiency, and continuity together affect multiple markers of cardiovascular health. This will enable individuals to reinforce behavioral change by discovering for themselves which healthy sleep habits are of direct benefit for themselves.”

This collaboration underscores Singapore’s position as a global leader in digital health innovation and personalized medicine. By combining research excellence with state-of-the-art wearable technology, the partnership between Project RESET and Oura represents a significant stride toward transforming cardiovascular care and enhancing population health outcomes.
