With their health data in hand, many Oura Members have been alerted to changes in their biometrics in the Oura App, such as early signs of sickness, a shift in blood pressure patterns, or a sudden rise in resting heart rate.
Now, with an integrated care experience within the Oura App, Oura Members can move more seamlessly from noticing a change in their biometrics to taking the next step with more confidence and more context.
In partnership with Counsel Health, Oura will surface the option to engage with Counsel’s medical AI and board-certified doctors directly within the Oura App. You can move from “something feels off” to getting clearer answers and easy access to high-quality treatment, all in one place.

Moving from Health Insights to Action
Through this partnership with Counsel, Oura lays the initial foundation for a new era of connected care: an infrastructure that brings care pathways directly into the Oura App.
Counsel is an AI-native primary care company that combines medical AI with board-certified doctors, creating a seamless bridge from personal health insights to real medical care. You can ask Counsel questions about your health, receive personalized medical advice, and even connect with licensed providers within minutes, all directly within the Oura App.
“At Oura, we believe the future of health guidance can’t stop at interpretation. For years, wearable technology has excelled at helping people understand their bodies. But understanding is only part of the story,” says Ricky Bloomfield, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Oura. “When a member is faced with a new symptom, an elevated signal, or a confusing result, they need a trustworthy path forward.”
With Counsel integrated into Oura, figuring out your next step becomes simpler. Instead of starting from scratch, you can begin with the context that Oura already has: your long-term trends, recent signals, individual questions, and the broader story of your health data over time.
The results? Less guesswork, fewer disconnected steps, and a more informed starting point for care.
A Doctor Who Knows Your Oura Data
To use Counsel within the Oura App, you’ll share relevant Oura data with Counsel’s doctors and medical AI. This includes biometric trends like sleep and activity patterns.
Counsel doctors can view your Oura data and health context within their clinical workflow, including biometric trends in sleep, cardiovascular, and reproductive health. That added visibility can help physicians triage faster, ask better questions, and make more informed decisions without needing to ask about your entire health history.
In other words, Oura helps replace a fragmented snapshot of your health with something closer to the full picture. “This is about more than surfacing health insights — it’s about helping members take the next step with confidence,” said Dr. Tanvi Jayaraman, Head of Clinical AI at Oura.
Oura and Counsel in Action
Through Oura’s integration with Counsel, members receive continuous biometric tracking paired with expert clinical insights right when they need them most. Below, see how Maria and Sue used Oura and Counsel to navigate their unique health journeys with greater clarity, comfort, and care.
Maria, 59, Texas
After living with unaddressed symptoms for over 30 years before her Multiple Sclerosis (MS) diagnosis, Maria found an essential support partner in her health journey through Oura’s Counsel partnership.
Living with a complex chronic condition often means navigating overwhelming uncertainty, but Oura grounds Maria’s daily experience in concrete physiological data—explaining her fatigue when she gets only minutes of deep sleep and highlighting how late-night meals strain her resting heart rate.
Testing Oura’s Counsel integration right before undergoing surgery proved invaluable. Unlike generic AI, Counsel leveraged her real-time biometric data to deliver compassionate, medical-grade guidance—recommending warm, savory foods over cold smoothies, guiding her through deep breathing, and reassuring her during severe stress that her system was strained, not collapsing. “With Oura, I have something that’s actually reading my physiology—and telling me you’re okay, take it easy today,” she tells us.
For Maria, combining biometric tracking with data-driven empathy provided a level of validation she had never experienced before: “I just don’t know a greater gift I could give myself.”
Sue, 68, California
Sue, a 68-year-old Oura member in California, has worn her Oura Ring for six months driven by a personal design to “get serious” about her health. In addition to using Oura to track her activity, sleep, and food intake, she also uses GLP-1 Insights to support her as she takes a GLP-1 medication prescribed by a telehealth clinic.
When she developed food poisoning the day before her scheduled GLP-1 injection, she asked Oura Advisor if she should wait to administer the medication or take it as scheduled. Advisor pointed her to Counsel for a virtual clinician visit.
Through a chat-based consult, a Counsel doctor took a thorough history, reviewed her Oura data, and advised delaying the shot one day after Sue rested and hydrated. Sue followed the Counsel doctor’s advice and recovered without issue. As she lives in a small town, where urgent care and specialists are an hour away, she values Counsel as a convenient resource for healthcare provider access and has since returned a second time.
Built With Trust in Mind
Oura’s long-term vision is to help members live better, longer by building a personal health operating system that is proactive, personalized, and continuous. This partnership with Counsel is intentionally grounded in what members need right now: a lower-friction way to get trustworthy medical guidance.
In this experience, care is delivered in two ways:
- Counsel’s medical AI can gather relevant context and answer initial questions.
- If you want or need a deeper level of clinical judgment or action taken, you can message directly with one of Counsel’s doctors in the Oura App.
To help provide safe, evidence-based answers, Counsel’s medical AI gathers relevant context and can offer initial advice with a higher degree of clinical credibility, but it does not replace human clinical judgment.
This experience is not intended for emergency care or to address every aspect of someone’s care journey. It is designed to support everyday medical needs and make the first step, and the next step, easier.
Privacy Is At the Forefront
With your consent, your Oura data is shared with Counsel. This gives their medical AI—and any Counsel doctor involved in your care—meaningful context about your health over time, rather than a single point-in-time snapshot.
Counsel is HIPAA-compliant and SOC 2 certified. Your data is encrypted and used by Counsel solely to support your care. Oura and Counsel will never sell your data.
If you direct Counsel to disclose your data to Oura, visit summaries from Counsel—including details like visit status, diagnoses, and treatment plans—can be integrated into Oura so that you have all of your important health data in one place.
*Important Disclosures
AI-supported medical guidance is available during your introductory 30-day free trial. After the trial, unlimited clinical care is available through the $159/year Counsel plan. Participation is optional. The plan renews automatically every year until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in Settings > Manage subscription and keep access through the end of your paid year.
