Sleep’s Role in Preventative Healthcare
Sleep is fundamental to health, influencing everything from cognitive function to physical performance. According to the CDC, people who are consistently sleep deprived (which is 1 in 3 of us!) are more likely to experience health problems like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, dementia, and cancer.
Healthcare providers are increasingly recognizing the profound impact of sleep on preventative health measures. “People dramatically underestimate how much sleep is linked to all the diseases killing us,” says sleep scientist Matthew Walker, Ph.D., author of Why We Sleep and an Oura advisor. “Sleep is the Swiss army knife of health. When sleep is deficient, there is sickness and disease.”
Plus, research, including many studies done using Oura Ring specifically, has pointed to the benefits of a good night’s sleep on various health outcomes, including mental, reproductive, metabolic, and cardiovascular health.

Why You Should Take Advantage of This Coverage
The inclusion of Oura Ring in FSA and HSA coverage opens up new doors for how you take care of your health. Here’s why it’s a game-changer:
- Save on cost: When you utilize an FSA or HSA funds, you’re using your pre-tax dollars to buy your Oura Ring. Reimbursements from these funds are tax-free, which means that you’re converting some of your salary into tax-free income.
