Oura is making it easier than ever to fuel your body for energy, performance, and long-term health.
Marking a major milestone in Oura’s evolution toward becoming a fully integrated health solution, two metabolic-focused, AI-enabled health features, Meals and Glucose, are now rolling out to Oura Ring Gen3 and Oura Ring 4 members in the United States using the Oura App in English.
Meals, previously a well-received Oura Labs feature, delivers key insights about meal timing and nutritional content, along with AI-powered feedback from Oura Advisor to help you make informed dietary decisions. All you have to do is take a picture of your meal, and Oura does the rest.
Additionally, when paired with a Stelo Glucose Biosensor by Dexcom, the new in-app Glucose monitoring feature enables you to measure your glucose levels over time.* This powerful integration reveals how factors that Oura tracks, such as your sleep, stress, and activity, impact your glucose levels at all hours of the day and night.
Combined with Oura’s existing tracking capabilities for sleep, stress, activity, women’s health, and heart health, these features on their own empower you to make better, more informed decisions for your holistic health. When used together, they provide an even more comprehensive and integrated experience to help you monitor and manage your metabolic health.
Metabolic Health: Oura’s Perspective
The foods you eat fuel your life. A nutritious diet can power your performance, increase your energy, and even help you sleep more soundly. On the other hand, poor choices can negatively impact your overall health and lead to metabolic disease. Beyond the foods you choose, your metabolic health is influenced by various factors—including genetics, lifestyle, and environment.
That’s why Oura takes a personalized approach to metabolic health tracking with Meals and Glucose. “Our approach to metabolic health and glucose monitoring is unique to Oura,” says Shyamal Patel, PhD, SVP of Science at Oura. “Meal-induced glucose spikes can vary significantly due to factors like sleep, stress, exercise, and meal timing, which is why it’s important to approach metabolic health holistically rather than focusing exclusively on diet.”
Importantly, Oura encourages experimentation, since health is unique to each individual.** “Instead of avoiding specific foods based on one spike, we encourage members to observe patterns, experiment with habits, and discover what helps them maintain better glucose balance over time,” Patel says. “With this approach, members can maintain a healthy relationship with food while building long-term habits that support metabolic health.”

Meals
After months of testing in Oura Labs, and following positive feedback, Meals is now a permanent feature in the Oura App.
The Meals feature helps you understand how your dietary choices impact your health, so you can improve energy levels, identify nutritional imbalances, and stay on track toward your goals. Simply take a photo of what’s on your plate, and Oura analyzes the dish to provide an immediate analysis of key nutrition components, including macronutrients.
Each component, such as protein, carbs, and fiber, is labeled as low, moderate, or high—helping you quickly understand the nutritional balance of your meal. Oura Advisor provides immediate feedback on nutritional choices, offering suggestions to help you make informed choices that work for your lifestyle.
Unlike traditional meal tracking apps that focus primarily on calories, Meals is designed to help you better understand how dietary choices affect your overall health, empowering you to develop sustainable habits aligned with your goals.

Glucose
With the Oura and Dexcom partnership and integration, you can track your glucose levels directly in the Oura App using the Stelo Glucose Biosensor. Easily and discreetly worn on the upper arm with up to 15 days of wear time, Stelo senses glucose levels every 15 minutes, giving you a clear view of how your body responds to meals, activities, and daily habits.
Oura’s approach to glucose tracking encourages you to focus on the bigger picture of your blood sugar levels over time. Rather than focus on individual glucose spikes, we encourage you to use this integration to better understand how your daily habits impact your glucose stability over time.
With Oura’s insights into your sleep, activity, recovery, stress, and more, you’ll receive a more holistic view of your dietary choices that allows you to make the best decisions to support your overall health.
