High blood pressure—also known as hypertension—is one of the most common and most overlooked health risks worldwide. Because it often doesn’t present symptoms, many people don’t realize they are experiencing it. In fact, an estimated 46% of adults with hypertension are unaware that they have it, while only 1 in 5 adults with hypertension are managing the condition effectively.

Coming soon to Oura Labs, Oura’s new Blood Pressure Profile Study allows eligible members* to participate in research that will help Oura develop a software feature that is intended to help them spot hidden hypertension risks today, and contribute to science that may protect millions tomorrow.

Help further innovative research. By choosing to participate in the Blood Pressure Profile Study, you can provide direct feedback and contribute valuable data that may help researchers at Oura understand new ways wearable technology could support future heart health research.

The Blood Pressure Profile Study doesn’t require any cuffs or visits to a doctor’s office. Simply wear your Oura Ring, answer some brief background history questions, and Oura will translate signals from your body into insights about your cardiovascular health.

Limitations: Oura Members must meet the following eligibility criteria in order to participate in the Blood Pressure Profile study: must be based in the United States and use the English version of the Oura App, must be 22 years or older, must use an Oura Ring Gen3 or newer. Members who are currently pregnant, or within 12 weeks postpartum, are not eligible to participate. Members with any cardiac implant (e.g. pacemakers) are not eligible to participate.
