Today, Oura and Resmed, the leading health technology company focused on sleep, breathing, and care delivered in the home, announced they are partnering to expand access to sleep health education and care, helping more people sleep better and improve their overall health.

Sleep is increasingly recognized as a key pillar of long-term health, yet it remains widely underprioritized. Early signs of poor sleep are often dismissed, creating a gap between what people experience and when they seek support or clinical care.

Oura Ring continuously monitors nighttime breathing patterns and, when it detects a higher number of breathing disturbances, notifies members in the app and suggests when a member might want to seek advice from a healthcare provider. Members who receive this notification can now connect directly to Resmed’s trusted sleep health resources — including a sleep assessment, educational materials, an informative guide to support conversations with their doctor, and the option to connect with an independent healthcare provider virtually or in person.

The use of wearable technology to track sleep is on the rise, increasing from 16% of adults in 2025 to in 2026 according to the Resmed 2026 Global Sleep Survey. Insights from wearable devices, including Oura Ring, can help people better understand their sleep patterns and encourage them to have informed conversations with their healthcare providers to learn more about potential sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Helping grow that awareness matters: Globally, an estimated 80% of people with OSA, a chronic condition that disrupts breathing during sleep, remain undiagnosed.

The stakes of leaving sleep apnea unaddressed go well beyond feeling tired. Untreated OSA is associated with higher risk of cardiovascular disease and hypertension, type 2 diabetes, depression, and cognitive decline. For the estimated 80%  of people with OSA who remain undiagnosed, the path from early symptoms to diagnosis and care can stretch months or even years — time during which downstream conditions may emerge or worsen.

Resmed x Oura ScreenshotBy helping Oura members recognize potential early signs of issues with their sleep and connect to care pathways that can enable them to understand if those issues could be OSA, Oura and Resmed aim to help close that gap before it compounds.

Oura Members who experience a higher number of breathing disturbances, can easily connect to trusted resources from Resmed, including:

  • Educational resources and a sleep assessment to better understand their sleep health
  • The option to connect with an independent healthcare provider, virtually or in-person, to address their sleep concerns and help diagnose sleep disorders, if needed.
  • An informative guide to support discussions with their healthcare provider.

By connecting consumer-generated wellness insights with Resmed’s sleep health resources, Oura and Resmed are helping Oura Members take a more informed next step if they have questions about their sleep health.

Resmed’s connection with Oura is designed to reach individuals who may not recognize their sleep issues or engage with the healthcare system, making it easier for people to learn about sleep health and connect with clinical resources when they need it. The experience is now available (as of April 28) to Oura Ring Gen3 and Oura Ring 4 members with an active Oura Membership in the United States.
