The delays on titanium covers for some of the models and sizes are still affecting the ring shipments for Group A. Our factory is making rings nearly at maximum capacity and orders in Group A are our top priority. We’ll ship the remaining orders of Group A as soon as possible. Please note we’re making the rings in large batches, one ring model and size at a time. We then send out the rings to those who are first in line for that size and model. That is why some rings in Group B have been shipped already.

The titanium covers for the unshipped rings have been ordered already, and we’ll be making the rings based on the current list of orders. If you want to change your ring model, it will result in a delay for your order.

We have now shipped over 10,000 rings! Below you’ll find the updated shipment statuses and estimates based on order date. You’ll also find what percentage of each ring model we have shipped.

  • 76% of orders were shipped by September 14.
  • 95% of the total orders in Group A will be shipped by September 30.

Pre-Order Update #12: Open Beta Available for Android 6.0 and Higher

Approximately 70% of the users in Pre-Order Group A have had their rings shipped. We’re shipping out the remaining rings in Group A in the next two weeks. We are shipping hundreds of rings every day and you will each get your ring soon! Since many of you have asked for more information on certain models and colors, this Pre-Order Update goes into more detail on those. We sincerely apologize for the delay and we understand your frustration. As a result, we’ve also decided to create a free product giveaway for all of you for being a valued Oura customer! Please read below for details on how to enter.

Below are the shipment statuses and estimates based on order date.

GROUP A: Pre-Order Placed in 2017

  • More than 70% of orders shipped by August 31.
  • Over 90% of the remaining orders will be shipped by September 14
  • We have had some delays on Rose components from our suppliers, but those models should be shipped by September 30.
  • Certain components for Heritage rings arrived earlier than Balance rings. As a result more of Heritage rings have been shipped than Balance rings.
  • All Balance Diamond rings estimated to be shipped by September 30

It’s great to see that more people are getting the ring each day. We have shipped half the orders we estimated would be shipped during the 3rd or 4th week of July. We are now shipping more orders per week than ever before and we’ll continue to rapidly increase the amount of rings shipped. However, with 8 different sizes, 4 different colors and 2 different designs we have 64 different variations of the Oura ring. This makes it difficult to predict the exact shipment date of your specific ring. We will do our best to communicate our estimates with you.

Pre-Order Update #9: Shipping Status and Import Approvals

Have you already ordered the new Oura ring? The Pre-Order Updates section of our site is the place to check for new updates, important dates and exclusive sneak peeks. We’ll be publishing updates approximately every two weeks.

This week’s pre-order update summarizes the answers to frequently asked questions.

What’s the status of import approvals?

Deliveries to Europe, Hong Kong and Macao have started, now that we’ve received the EU import approvals. We’ll share an update on import approvals for Australia and New Zealand once we hear more next week. We’ll also update you on the list of countries where we’ll start shipping during Q3.

What’s the status of deliveries?

We are increasing our production volumes nicely week by week, but this week we had to conclude that the we cannot reach June’s anticipated production volumes. This lag will result in changes in estimated delivery schedules as follows:

Pre-order placed: Nov 30 — Dec 1

Estimated delivery: By the end of June / early July

Note: More specific models like Balance Diamond may be delayed to late July.

Pre-order placed: before mid December

Estimated delivery: By the end of July / early August

Pre-order placed: after mid December and later

Estimated delivery: August

If you order a ring now, the estimated delivery schedule is 12–14 weeks. Please note that we prioritize the shipping of pre-orders first ahead of new orders.

We are taking all necessary measures to scale up production volumes, and our ultimate target of shipping all pre-orders by the end of August hasn’t changed.

What’s the status of the Android app?

Good news to Android 7.0 users: the new Oura app will be available to you as an Open Beta version in Google Play by the end of June!

Currently, you can join the Open Beta if you have Android version 8.0 or higher.

To take the new Oura ring into use, you’ll need the new Oura app (app version 2.0 or higher) for Android. If you join the beta, you cannot revert back to the current version of the app (app version 0.x). We recommend joining the beta only if:

  • you don’t mind encountering some minor bugs as we smooth things out
  • your phone is one of the whitelisted models (devices we have tested and that are working)

Pre-Order Update #8: First Rings Shipped

Have you already ordered the new Oura ring? The Pre-Order Updates section of our site is the place to check for new updates, important dates and exclusive sneak peeks. We’ll be publishing updates approximately every two weeks. The eighth Pre-Order Update celebrates the first shipments and includes important information for Android users.

First Rings Shipped to the United States and Canada

The day has come! We have received the import approvals for United States and Canada and the very first pre-orderers can expect their ring today Tuesday or Wednesday. When your ring is shipped, you’ll get an automatic email with a tracking number.

The rings will be shipped out on a first-come-first-served basis. The first batch of rings will be shipped to the US and Canada. There will be a steady flow of new rings sent out as we work to fulfill the orders in May, June, July and August. For an up-to-date list of countries and import approval statuses, see this page.

We will continue posting these Pre-Order Updates approximately every 2 weeks and give you more information along the way. If you contact Oura support, please note that it may take us longer than usual to get back to you.

What Should I Do When I Get the Ring?

When you get the ring, go to help.ouraring.com/getting-started. There you’ll find step-by-step instructions and videos on how to get started.

Also, we’d love to see your first impressions of the new ring. Use the hashtag #ouraring and tag us @ouraring on your social media of choice.

Sizing Kits and Confirming Your Size

If you want to order a sizing kit, you can do that at ouraring.com/sizing. You will get a notification email once the sizing kit has shipped. We estimate that if you have ordered a sizing kit you will get it within the next two weeks.

After you have found out which size is right for you, go to ouraring.com/sizing, navigate to the Confirm Size section and finalize your order. If you have chosen your size when you have made the order, you don’t have to confirm your size.

After you’ve used the sizing kit, please pass it on to a friend, a loved one or a colleague. You don’t have to send it back to us.

Oura App: Open Beta for Android Version 8.0 Now Available

Important information for all you Android users: the new Oura app is now available as an Open Beta version in Google Play! If you have a phone running Android version 8.0 or higher, you can join the Open Beta and download the new Oura app.

First Sizing Kits Have Been Shipped

We’ve shipped out the first sizing rings to pre-orderers. We’ve also upgraded to a warehouse that can handle a larger number of orders, as many have wanted to use the ring sizers to find out their size.

Oura sizing kit

We’re sending the sizing kits out from two warehouses: the main hubs are located in Europe and the US. Currently, sizing kits are being delivered from the European warehouse. The estimated shipping start for sizing kits from the US warehouse is at the end of next week. The shipments will continue through May. If you’ve ordered the sizing kit, you’ll get an email notification once the sizing kit is shipped. I want a sizing kit, will I get one?

If you have made a pre-order for the Oura ring and you want to find out your size with a sizing kit, go to ouraring.com/sizing to order a sizing kit. We’ll send you a sizing kit only if you order the sizing kit.

Water Resistance and Ring Materials

We have done some further testing on the water resistance of the new Oura rings. We have verified it to 150m. You can safely wear an Oura ring in the shower or go swimming or snorkeling with it. For info about the ring materials read the Oura FAQ.

Statuses and Schedules

  • Type approvals for the new Oura ring are proceeding nicely. First rings to be shipped out in May.

Shipping Schedules

The production line is already up and running at our factory, and we’re soon ready to move to mass production stage. The first production batches have already been delivered to our testing programs and our devoted beta users. However, it will take a few extra weeks to receive the import approvals from each local authority of our shipping countries. The import approval process and schedules vary between countries but we’ll start shipping the rings as soon as we start receiving the approvals. The current estimate for shipping to start is in May. More detailed country list can be found from the link below.

We’re ready to start shipping the sizing kits next week.

So, here’s what we are going to do:

  • We’ll use the couple of extra weeks that it takes to get the import approvals for collecting more data from our beta users. We’ll fine-tune the app experience on the basis of their feedback.
  • Once we start receiving the import approvals, the rings will be shipped on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • After the orders start rolling out, we’ll give you a better estimate of your specific order and its timeline.

We’re honoured to have received more than 22,000 pre-orders to date, thank you for your support and patience. We know that you’re eagerly waiting for your rings, and we’re equally eager to deliver them to you!

The New Oura App

The new Oura app was released for iOS yesterday. It comes with a beautiful visual design, new cool features such as notes and tags, and rich data visualizations. To learn more about the new features and see snapshots of the visualizations, check out Introducing the New Oura App blog article.

The new app is available for first generation Oura ring users through App Store update. You’ll need iOS 11 or 10 to use the new app. If you’ve pre-ordered the new Oura ring, you’ll experience the new app when you pair it with your ring.

The new Oura app for Android is available on Google Play before the rings start shipping.

Pre-Order Update #4: Updates to Oura Cloud

Have you already pre-ordered the new Oura ring? The Pre-Order Updates section of our site is the place to check for new updates, important dates and exclusive sneak peeks. We’ll be publishing updates approximately every two weeks. In our fourth Pre-Order Update we take a look at the newest updates to Oura Cloud and the new Oura app.

Updates to Oura Cloud

If you have the first Oura ring, you’ll be happy to know that we’ve published some much-requested updates to Oura Cloud – the online dashboard where you can dig deep and interact with the data the Oura ring tracks. If you’ve pre-ordered the new Oura ring, you’ll gain access to Oura Cloud once you take your new ring into use.

Make Data Beautiful: CSV Exports Now Available from Oura Cloud

You can now export a CSV (comma-separated value) file from Oura Cloud. When you’re in the Trends view, choose the date range and the fields you want to export, then just press Export Data in the top right corner. Easy. Beautiful. Powerful.

With the CSV export you can combine different data sources and create your own data visualizations. The only limitation is your imagination. In fact, we’d love to see what insights you can get with the data your Oura ring collects. So, if you make a data viz or realize something important when interaction with the raw numbers from your data, let us know! Send us an email to community@ouraring.com. And if it’s OK with you, we’d love to share your findings, too.

Below is just one example of what you can do with the Oura data and a spreadsheet: average sleep scores per weekday for one member of the Oura team, after using the ring for a year. Sleep Scores on Mondays are the worst, Fridays are the best. Living for the weekend, anyone?

Another new update is the ability to select a date range and have Oura Cloud show you the average value for the chosen metric. With average values you can more easily spot trends, outliers and other interesting phenomena in your data.

More Control Over Your Oura Account

When you log into Oura Cloud and navigate to Account, you can change your primary email address and manage connections to other services.

Also the Activity Tab has been improved to include both activity targets and a better visualization for activity intensity.

First Look at New Oura App

We’ve been fine-tuning the Oura app experience. Below is a first look at the all new Oura app that will be available as an update for all users through the app stores on iOS and Android. If you’re already using the Oura app, none of your data will be lost when you update.
